The four-piece, whose debut single Carry You is already at No.9 in the UK iTunes charts following its release on Monday, have their own covers on the new issue of Fiasco magazine.

However, the group are adamant their singing will be the main focus of the ground, not dance moves like many of their boy band predecessors. Jaymi explained: We really want to focus on voices. We’re all individual and we want to showcase what we’re good at.’
JJ added: On X Factor we did a lot of ballads so we want to go out there and show we’re not about ballads, we can do something more upbeat.’

Olly Murs warns Union J: “Cherish the moment”

Olly Murs has warned boyband Union J to “cherish the moment” as pop stardom can be a fickle business.
Olly, 28, got to know the four-piece when he hosted ITV2’s The Xtra Factor. And now their debut single Carry You is battling Robin Thicke for No 1.
Olly said: “The first single is the worst – it’s a tricky time. I wish Union J all the success in the world and hope they can create something for themselves. But pop music is always changing, and you never know how long your success will last, so they should just enjoy it.”

Union J: “We feel like a pop band now”

Union J revealed they feel like a “proper pop band” as they led fans on a spontaneous sing-along during their impromptu busk around London.
The foursome - Josh Cuthbert, JJ Hamblett, Jaymi Hensley and George Shelley - toured around the capital, singing songs including their debut single Carry You and Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit Call Me Maybe at landmarks including the London Eye and Leicester Square.
The boyband, who took fourth place in the last series of ITV’s The X Factor, revealed the past six months has been a whirlwind.
“It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. We’ve been going out and promoting our first single, which is crazy. I feel like today is the first day we’re not on The X Factor. For the last six months, I’ve really felt like ‘Union J from The X Factor’ but now we’re promoting this single as us, and now I feel like a proper pop band,” said Jaymi.
Josh added: “Six or seven months ago, we had no idea what the future had in store for us. We didn’t even know if we had a record deal at the time. We’re so lucky and grateful to be going out busking and promoting our debut single.”
